Octopus Craft 🐙

Hello everyone!

This week, we made an octopus to continue exploring our ocean theme.

We started with an octopus leg cutout, and the children used crayons to draw lots of big and small circles on the paper. The little ones used dot stickers to decorate the legs.

Next, we prepared the round octopus body using a clear poly bag and colored paper. We added eyes and a little mouth to give each octopus its own funny and friendly expression. As we put everything together, each octopus looked a little different, making every creation special.

Through this activity, we encouraged the children to freely explore crayons, colors, and simple hand movements. Drawing circles gave them an opportunity to practice making different movements with their hands while enjoying the freedom to scribble and create.

It was a simple craft, but full of creativity, curiosity, and lots of fun!

Straw Rocket

Hello everyone!

Today the children enjoyed a fun interactive activity by making their own straw rockets that they can even enjoy playing with at home! The children were amazed as they watch their drawings fly as they blew into the straw.

The activity began with the children choosing between a butterfly and a shark. Next, they used crayons to coloring them in.

With the teachers help, the children attached tape to the back of their drawings for the straw to go into.

The kids blew into the straw and laughed as they saw their butterflies and sharks soar through the air!

Sensory play with Ice🧊

Hello everyone!

It’s been quite hot outside so keep kids engaged while they can get to celebrate the summer season, the children enjoyed a fun filled shaved ice activity followed by ice painting!

The activity began with Children touching the ice cubes.

They smiled and laughed as they experienced how slippery and cold the ice felt in their hands.

The teacher then introduced the shaved ice machine, the children watched with excitement and curiosity.

Each child had a chance to help the teacher shave the ice by turning the handle, making the experience even more exciting. They eagerly touched the soft, fluffy ice, smiling as they discovered how cold it felt.

Using cups and spoons, the children scooped, poured, and transferred the shaved ice, exploring its texture and watching it melt in their hands. This open ended sensory play encouraged them to experiment, observe, and enjoy the refreshing feel of the ice.

After enjoying the shaved ice, the children moved on to ice painting using colorful ice cubes. As they glided the melting ice across the paper, beautiful lines and vibrant colors appeared. The children enjoyed watching the colors mix together and create new shades, making each piece of artwork unique.
