This week we explored color, light, and shapes with a simple and engaging traffic light craft.🚥
We began with sensory play using colored cellophane. Red, yellow, and green purple and blue sheets were offered for the children to hold, crinkle, and look through. They loved watching the light shine through and noticing how the things around them look different as the color of the sheet changes. This free exploration encouraged visual curiosity before starting the craft.
We explained about the traffic light and what each color represents in the traffic light.🚦
For the craft, we prepared a black base to represent the traffic light body. Circle cutouts for each light.
Red, Yellow, Green cellophane for matching the colored signals.
The children helped stick the circle cutouts onto the base.
Next, they covered each circle with the matching cellophane.
The finished traffic lights looked bright and colorful —a fun creation children were proud to take home!
Thank you so much!
See you next week 🤗
