Hello everyone!
This week, we enjoyed a wonderful Vegetable Sensory Play activity using various fresh vegetables like cabbage, lettuce, cucumber, spinach, bitter gourd, corn, leek, spring onion and green peppers and many more.
First we introduced and reviewed the vegetables by asking children to say the vegetable name and touch the correct vegetable.
The children were curious as they touched the different textures.
Then we cut the vegetables and explored the outside and inside textures of the vegetables.
They touched the soft spinach leaves, crinkled the lettuce, felt the layers of the cabbage, smelled the bitter gourd and held the cool, smooth cucumber. Some children carefully examined each vegetable, while others eagerly squeezed, pulled apart, and discovered the different textures with great excitement.
As they explored, we introduced simple words such as green, leaf, soft, crunchy, big, and small, helping to build their vocabulary in a playful way.
Children used toy knifes, tongs and utensils for pretend play. They enjoyed chopping vegetables, making salad and vegetable sushi and used their imagination to be creative with their own recipes.
The children were fully engaged from beginning to end and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was a joyful activity filled with smiles, laughter, curiosity, and meaningful learning through play.
Thank you so much 😊
See you next week!
